They should put Vandoorne in another team for a year.
Both Jensen and Alonso have suffered so much in these last 2 years, let them enjoy next year a bit, they deserve it.

Some (still unknown) ERS related issue.

Happy for Mclaren & Honda, These points are like bonus points since they are not expected to do well in these tracks.
Good news is that Honda will be bringing updates in the next couple of races.

If button had not lost a lot of time behind Nasr he would be ahead of Ricciardo, the gap between them is less than 7 seconds

Doubt RIC would have pitted that last time if the gap to BUT and GRO would have been smaller.

6th (7th considering Vettel) on merit is a very nice result, pace looked solid all race long.

We are now only 4 points adrift of Torro Rosso to take 6th position in the Constructors Championship. If Honda brings a decent step forward, we may fight with Force India for 5th.

No brake failure, but a battery failure.

It is going in the right direction, i think Mclaren figured out how to manage the tire issues they had earlier in the season.
Monaco in particular highlighted the tyre struggles.

Today wasvery nice to see them battle with decent cars.

A good result for the team, the car looks competitive and decent pace. Could the new tyre pressure regulations plays in McL favor?

One thing that 'worries" me are the declarations of the team. When they said the race is going to be tough like today they made a really decent race, on the contrary, like Monaco, suppously that was going to be "the race" and they had a mediocre result. Looks like they are not sure what they have in their hands.

Anyway.... the team is improving and more.good things are on our way.

thats true the weak link in this team is the chassis. that why they struggle in monaco for pace but the race pace in austria was the best shown all this year and in a power circuit, obviously eric B is trying to save his job by boosting about how good the chassis is and we all know what really happened in monaco in terms of pace, probably one of the worst in terms of pace, just lucky with rain , fantastic pitstop by mclaren and other misfortune to end up with points. i am expecting more points on upcoming power circuits to come.
cant wait for silvestone gp

That is not true, they struggled because they could not switch the tires on.
Not because of a weak chassis.

It is not the best either, but certaintly very decent.
