Following the demotion of Ron Dennis as the company's chief, McLaren Technology Group has announced that Zak Brown has accepted the position of Executive Director. The former McLaren F1 driver is set to start work in December.

in monaco the pace was slow cuzz they set up the cars wrong and couldn't keep the tires working...
I'm hoping they had tire issues which they've corrected with brake/duck changes, front wing tweaks and floor mods.
Alonso and Button P7 and P8 respectively without using the supersoft. This is very encouraging news and would be close to the Ferraris had they fitted the softer rubber.

Early pace always shows Mclaren in good form, hopefully due to the track specifics I hope that we will remain in the top 10 trough the hole weekend.

True, but they are normally around P7/P8 using the same compound as everyone else. They could have done a low fuel lap on the hard compound too, so I guess we will have to wait for qualifying and look at their long run pace in P2.

Did they solve their tire eating issues? Tire deg will define if they can be in the Top10 or not in the race as it will be at least 2-Stop, with the option for a 3-stop race.
Tire wear, ultimate pace, and race pace are all very similar between FI TR and Williams, McLaren seem to be a little faster than them on this track and with an extra .5 they'll overtake Ferrari. The difference is in the driver, let's see if the McLaren chaps are as good as we make them out to be. Grid position is critical around here so they have enough pace to maintain whatever position they qualify in. If anyone in front of them makes a mistake they have a chance for a good points haul, provided they don't botch up qualifying or the strategy.

I remember early in the year they had terrible problems working the Super Soft, but I see no evidence of it in the long runs today. They looked good, so I'm assuming they've sorted it.
I don't see the people in here to claim the McLaren chassis is a dog, carried by the Honda PU.
