I think p6 and p7 given carlos sainz doesn't improve significantly , so I'd say Jenson would have beaten Sainz's time maybe by a tenth and Alonso half a tenth up the road since they were both pretty evenly matched during practice sessions when they had uncompromised laps

Yeah, I was thinking the same. They would have improved but so would everyone else. I wish it had stayed wet for longer, they were really good in the wet

Ferrari is still out of reach, but Ferrari itself is becoming a third power. They are lucky that Mclaren is still healing their troubles and that others do not have as much money for spending as they do, otherwise they would be trailing behind. Its remarkable how their performance has fallen since the start of the season.

Ferrari are struggling cause of James Allison's Family issues...So it won't feel that good if it does happen.

Ferrari are struggling cause of James Allison's Family issues...So it won't feel that good if it does happen.

I feel bad for Allison, but his wife's death has not affected Ferrari's performance at all.

well in austria a power circuit jenson manage to qualify in 5th, in changing condition, if hungary was dry i would have expected them to qualify at best at p10 . its not changed alot, mclaren performance in either chassis circuit or power circuit remain equal so far.
and by the way mclaren top speed was very strong and close to top in practice with running heavy downforce . if only mclaren could make their aero more efficient, mclaren could be ahead of ferrari.

There have been so many aero and engine updates since Monaco that I'm not sure it's really comparing apples with apples. The package has been competitive on the last few tracks and their improvement over the past 2 months has been astonishing.
