F1 Parade in London

Post

Did anyone else here go to the F1 Parade in London? I did and I thougth the event itself was fantastic but the organisiation of the people was very poor. That said I read somewhere that the organiseser where only expecting 25,000 people to turn up. But on the day over half a million people came to watch  . I bet that didn't help matters.

Seeing the cars was great, but the noise...wow! The sound of an F1 car in the streets of London was absolutely Phenonimal. I have never heard anything quite like that before in my life. When the car starts it sound just like it did on TV...but when they accelerated or tried a burnout or doughnut the noise was indescribable. Absolutely amazing. Completly out of this world. I took some reasonably good quality video clips on my digital camera (about 30seconds long each) but no photos, otherwise I would have posted them here. Sorry. If anyone else went, what did you think???

The cars were:

Ferrari - Luca badoer
Williams - Juan Pablo Montoya
Mclaren - David Coulthard
BAR - Jenson Button
Jaguar - Martin Brundle
Jordan - Nigel Mansell
Toyota - Christiano da Matta
Minardi - Zsolt Baumgartner (I THINK it was Zsolt...not entirely sure)

Also they had Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (seriously) and the FIA Safety Car and they had Martin Brundle driving the Jaguar E-Type used in the Austin Powers movies (Although I didn't see it - I'm not sure if he actually did drive it on the day in the end)

one last question....I had a discussion about the passenger F1 cars that were present!....I only saw the Minardi!

But 2 friends of mine say they saw a passenger Williams (which I supossed would be a F. BMW with the Williams colour skeem) and a Jordan!!!!!! but none of the 2 teams have passenger F1 cars!

It was Zsolt. The passenger's husband paid over 225,000 pounds for that seat.
