Theres only a couple guys around with f1 experience but there's plenty of engineers

In motoGp is more fun and you see much more of action, in f1 2001 we worked about 14-16 hours 1 hour transfer to the hotel but nice experience

Yeah, sounds like slang for stall. I wonder if McLaren's "octopus" exhaust, back from the EBD era, was ever more than a rumor.

Yes. But it wasn't an octopus shape. It was a fan exhaust. I had an epic battle with Scarbs on that one here on this forum. He put up a good fight but a year later it was revealed to be a fan and i was right.

Yup. Those were the days when upgrades were upgrades.. Good times. Good times.

Edit: oh! Scarbs works in f1 and he is a member here.

I work in the automotive industry doing mostly non-motorsport related stuff.

I had always wondered about this too, specially when you´ve read enough in F1T to realice how wise he is, because... what´s the reason anyone with same name as an F1 engineer would login on a F1 forum with that same name if he does not want to be confused?

At least we solved the doubt, didn´t we?

Seems to be a reasonably common name in the automotive industry as it turns out.

There was a Tim Wright in the 80-90s who worked at McLaren

There is the Tim Wright at Force India.

Another one who works as a motorsport consultant in the UK (actually there seems to be more than one).

This Tim Wright is an engineer at Jaguar Land Rover

Another one is a design engineer at GM.

I was thinking of contacting them all and starting a new car company populated entirely by people with the same name.

When I signed up 8 years ago, there weren't any Tim Wrights in F1 as far as I knew.
