G'day and welcome to THE forum, I personally think Nick, with all his experience, is the better driver, based on results from the last 2 years where he didn't put a foot wrong, then again Robert is a hell of a quick guy and I can think of very few mistakes he's made himself, he's also not afraid to mix it with the big guys, should be a great team altogether and in 2008 I think Nick will lead Robert home most races, but then again Robert could get a win this season.

i think it will be close, but imo kubica gained enough experience during last two season and has the speed and guts to charge heidfield.

I agree with Tom.
I expect Heidfeld to lead most races but don´t discard Robert could be at front of him too.

Hi there!

I'm a BMWSauber fan, so I think that they are good guys both, if"Quick Nick" doesn't won a race or podiums it will be close to his end, he has too many starts (not as Barrichelo but close). Anyway McLarens and Ferraris will not give too much space in the podium... I expect a reliable engine and good strategy at boxes.

This week I've been at Fangio's Museum in Balcarce, Argentina... it's amazing how this sport changed not only in speed or technology, also in simplicity for the driver, extremely safe... maybe one day pilots should run the large Nordschleife as Nick did.

Bye!

Firstly welcome to the forum exepm, or the forum as Tom earlier quite rightly pointed out.

I'm not too sure about next year. At first I was going to say Nick. I thought the BMW would be a peach of a car, and an experienced driver like Nick would bring home the points through consistent race podiums, and maybe a couple of wins.

But that car's not looking as driveable as they hoped is it? I'm beginning to think maybe Kubica may not score as many points, but if they do bag a win this season it'll be Kubica who gets it, through sheer raw pace at the one race the car seems to be balanced at.

(That's assuming that their problems aren't sorted by then)

I really enjoy watching Kubica at work, but I have to say that I prefer Nick Heidfeld. Nick is one of the most underappreciated drivers in F1. There is very few media attention for him although he proved he is top driver more than once. He has so much experience and is the one that makes the car faster and better at BMW, so I really hope that he can take his first win at last this season. He really deserves it!

I agree principessa, Nick is very under-rated. I still think that in terms of outright pace Kubica has a slight edge over Nick. But overall I think Nick's experience and subsequent race-craft make him a better all round perfromer.

That's why I think that if the BMW is say, 0.5-1.0second a lap down on the Ferrari's and Mclaren's then Nick could bring home maybe 2 wins, and if the car is within 0.5 seconds of them then Nick will be the one to launch an early "Championship Challenge". But if the car is slower than this, and a win will only come from a sudden, unseen burst of speed at a particular track then I think maybe Robert will take it.

But tht's just my personal opinion, there's not facts or figures to back it up (that I know of or can be bothered to research lol) but it's just a feeling I get about them.

Having in mind Kubica's experience in F1 and his body profile relative to Heidfeld's I say by the time he gets same amount of races under his belt as Nick has he will be mentioned in stats as much better driver. He is already able to beat Heidfeld or at least be as good as he is. If BMW made a really good car I wouldn't be surprised if Kubica wins 2008 WDC. Wait and see.

I really feel that Kubica is the better of the two.Nick has a lot of races under his belt and he is quick. But I was never satisfied with his performances.

I feel Kubica is equally matched in pace and with a good car he can lead nick comfortably.Lets see who's got the better car in 2008.

Two of my favorite drivers. I think we will see Kubica take the lead this year. In 07 he and his race engineer had a few disagreements. I think they fixed the problem, and now we will see Kubica regularly outpace Nick. I also agree that Nick is very underrated(along with Jarno Trulli who made some great passes in 07)!

Imagining how silly Robert would look with a full beard, I have to give the nod to Nick.

The pass on Alonso last year was quite choice, and while I can't prove the beard did it, I can't think of another reason right now.

Kubica is much taller than Heidfeld and most likely a lot heavier which means that he is harder to fit in cockpit, probably sits higher (which worsens the airbox aero), engineers have more trouble adjusting foot pedals and if he is heavier too than less ballast can be used relative to Heidfeld's car.

I guess it depends on how you rate a driver. Raw pace or consistency?
