Tech regs

5.3.2 The crankshaft centre line must lie on the car centre line and 90mm (+/-0.5mm) above the
reference plane. The power unit may only transmit torque to the gearbox by means of a single
output shaft that must be co-axial with the crankshaft. The output shaft must rotate clockwise
when viewed from the front of the car.

Insider news from underground press and McLaren chassis team:
Honda is sending on a daily basis, new parts, cables, systems and other amenities on a daily basis to UK. They had no time to test these hundreds of new cables and parts in Sakura...
This is due to the purpose adaptation issues they are encountering (to get the PU fit the new MCL32.
That sounds 2014 again!!!!
Alonso has to prepare for a long chair ready F1, and enjoy the sun during Spain tests next week...
F...! Again, may the Vtec be with them this time!

Yeah nah I call bull hey. So close to testing I'm sure Mclaren could use the Milton Keynes facility to verify wiring changes. An unless they used some of Ron's spare hares to wire it up, they must have something that works otherwise how'd they start up the motor? Although maybe that's why it sounds like its burping :lol:

I think like last year, we won't see the power unit at its full potential right away. Rather, that potential will be unlocked, and even in an unoptimized state, will still be dramatically better than 2016.

When everything goes according to schedule, almost nothing can go according to plan.

Well I've heard insider news that Honda have miscalculated and instead of 1000hp the PU is developing 1000kw and have covered 50000 miles on the dyno with that PU.

Probably as believable as the above sources.
