Force india unveils livery

Post

It's ugly. That and the new car is called the "VJM-01."

What a crock of ---. Mally is an egoist prick. Who names the car after themselves? Who brings nationalistic pride into F1? He belongs in A1GP. Force India . . . rubbish.

Why don't we just have team Reich

I disagree. Unlike the interim burgundy/white livery, this one looks quite pleasing - while the sponsors are a tad too plentiful, the understated gray lines up front and the golden sidepods look slick - kinda like the BMWs, just in a different color.

I was prepared to hate the livery so much, but I'm honestly surprised.

It's better than the interim one. But why everyone must pint his car in white? bmw, toyota, honda, renault, fi, super aguri... especially honda, bmw and fi will confuse someone in far sight

Uhm...Frank Williams and Super Aguri springs to mind. As far as Nationalistic pride goes, you needn't look further then the red cars...

Who cares? The only TV time it will get is as the frontrunners are lapping it.

Its another pet project by a guy that has alot of blowable cash.

I wouldnt expect them to be anywhere but dead last yet again this season.

Hmmmm.... FW,SA,PS,EJ to name a few :P

But the livery is indeed not so pretty... looks somewhat old school. Reminds me one of Arrows in early 80s. And yet another 'white' livery  There are not a single yellow, orange, green or black car in F1. Come on!

+1

Just look at their website - picture of Mallaya, exclusive interview with Mallaya. No pic of car, drivers or any other key people. There's also launch video with speech of Mallaya. Four people on the stage like dummies don't say a word except him. Where is the speech of team boss, chief designer...? Mallaya isn't making a team but a monument to himself.

Agreed with Principessa, winter livery was exceptional. New one is even worse than Renault's.

Frank Williams was a constructor himself, like Enzo Ferrari, Bruce Mclaren, Colin Chapman etc. You can't put him in same bag with those rich guys who come and buy whole team without ever designing any of their cars. Those guys steal everything, including the way cars are marked.

A golden livery , but results in 2008 are likely to be made of "Carbon"

That comment could easily be used to classify 99% of the heads of each F1 team (past, present or future) and for that matter anyone of power or wealth. It's probably their ego thats got them to the position they are. What has he done to make you pass such harsh judgement of him?

As for the car, I think it looks great to start with. They have retained a little silver stripe on nose from Midland days & the gold on sidepod reminded me of Jordan car with Benson & Hedges livery. Ya, I'm not too crazy about another car with white on main part of chasis but at least the livery is not too hard on eyes & tacky.

I predict they will beat both Honda powered teams.

Well yes, just like with the driver presentation the only one talking was Dr. Mallya. I think he enjoys to hear himself talking. During the launch, he invites Mol on the podium, talks about Mol, but never gives him the microphone. He is part-owner, why can't he say anything? Why wasn't there an interview with Kolles where he could explain what will be different between the car launched today and the new updated car that will run at Barcelona from 25 February and that will be used at Melbourne.

For pictures, you can always visit our gallery Manchild  http://www.f1technical.net/gallery/v/Fo ... 01/launch/

Because Mol's English is better than his

Not enough red to go fast, but maybe enough gold to beat Honda.

I think it looks pretty good. The gold reminds me of the 1996 B&H Jordan and the Warsteiner Arrows of the late 70's. The Kingfisher logo reminds me of my last vacation in India. :P
