Any non-Ferrari fans worried about Kimi's comments?

Post

Kimi doesnt seem to be the type to play the "our car is the best" kind of bluffing. After reading his comments about the F2008 (Kimi's over the moon...), and knowing that there is a major aero update coming very soon, 2008 may be a runaway season for SFM.

The F2008 might be an extremely well put together package, but until they get back to running with the rest of the top teams, and not just alongside Toyota like the latest Bahrain tests, I'm not willing to believe its as amazing as Kimi puts it. And since McLaren have been rather quiet about their testing form, they might be holding some quite interesting cards up their sleeves. The Ferrari crew are just more vocal about their alleged super-amazing testing pace.

But then again this my view as an outsider, and not as a Ferrari driver or engineer, so only they can know the F2008's real potential.

About a runaway season for Ferrari, I certainly hope not! :D It would be great if we could see a four, or even a five way battle for wins throughout the season.

Whenever Ferrari struggles, its a good season. At least for the past 3 years they haven't been left to dominate, but they tend to be in the contention for the championship most years.

I mean they dont normaly bang on about how good there car is at this point.

Hummm, hope it is close at the top. would love to see a 5 way season. Must admit i would love one of those teams to be williams.

Kimi is careful person.( My word section is correct? ) very quiet man
But, this year, he often said "Car is good, fast and ~~~~~"

First time ~!!!
He satisfied his car during winter test

So I look forward to coming season ..

Probably not under such control as at Mclaren. For instance Dennis could bar drivers from saying very good things to play it down as much as possible. who knows...

It's nice to see Kimi has what he considers a good car. He definitely deserves it.
But the differences betweeen '07 and '08 isn't as great as , say .. '06 and '07. So the teams that had competitive cars last year (Ferrari, McLaren, and to some extent BMW) can build on the foundation of last year's success and refine it into this year's competitor.
And all last year McLaren and Ferrari were locked in a seesaw battle for supremecy, each team taking turns at the front. I expect the same this season, with (hopefully) others closing the gap. It would be nice to see teams like BMW, Renault, and Williams back in the hunt.
Ferrari have to come to grips with last year's Achilles Heel, namely reliability. If so, Kimi will be hard to beat.
Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.

Kimi can be pretty sly when it comes to talking with the press, but this time last year (and even during the first few races of the season) Kimi was honest in saying that he was having trouble with the car. So if he's saying he's happy with it now, I'd have to agree that SFM are in good shape. And ditto on the comments about some other key players, namely Williams, getting back into the fight. They've got such a brilliant history and it's a shame they're not running at the front. If nothing else, it would be nice to see Nico on the podium a couple of times this year. So back to Ferrari...
I'd like to invite some comments: does anyone think there is a possibility that Ferrari built the F2008 to suit Kimi? Or is Ferrari just going about their business?

if kimi says he is happy with the car then the rest of the field should definitely be worried. i think he really found his "family", he is happy with the team and he won the championship, for sure you r more talkative. now that pressure of becoming the champion is off his shoulders he should be even more relaxed and laid back. i think he will destroy his teammate and others.

i predicted in the forums of f1technical that kimi will be the champion of 2007, well here goes another prediction and i say he will become double champion by the end of this year.
