Renault Sport Racing and McLaren Racing are pleased to announce they have agreed an engine supply partnership for the 2018, 2019 and 2020 seasons. The deal will see Renault Sport Racing supply McLaren with Formula 1 power units, while also establishing a close working relationship with McLaren’s engineers and technicians.

I doubt Alonso is going to continue for the whole season, and somehow I don't think Button is coming back either. I'd say after race 4 (Spain) if McLaren aren't challenging for podiums Alonso will be out the door.
Although I'm glad Alonso is being honest, and all with a bit of humour thrown in. He seems to be the only person in Mclaren Honda to tell it like it is and now I hope certain people here and everywhere will realise what the real problem is.

0% chance of that

Nah he is not quitting mid season. That will be a career suicide.
In the interview he was asked if he'd rather be running a version of the 2016 PU or this one, and without hesitation he said this one. He knows there's some potential in it, he's just frustrated it's not been harnessed yet.
Ugh it really hurts me and agrovates me at the same time that a man the calibre of Alonso has to endure this.
Really, there is no excuse for Honda's absolute failure.
I don't think Mclarens chassis was that 'fenomenal', and i doubt it will be this year - well, meaning, i haven't got much
confidence in taking serious that it supposedly would be better than Mercs, RB's etc. But the obvious problem has
been the Honda engine.
Can't stand it.
I was really hoping Alonso would have a stellar Mclaren and fight for podiums with the possbility to see it as a WDC car by the end
of the year or next year season start.
This is agonizing. It's like Mclaren and Ferrari are just torturing Alonso.
I really, really, really feel even more annoyed that he didn't go to Mercedes this year. It would have been perfect. absolutely perfect.
This is never going to work and that means Alonso's next title is never going to happen anymore - and that really, really, really annoys me more.

He will not quit but he might run Lemans this year as noneone on the team are going to have him unhappy
