Thunders wrote:Of yourse that's nothing that is fixed in a Week (the valvetrain issue that is). Point is that PU shouldn't even have turned up at pre season testing in such an obviously unfinished state. such problems should be fixed over the Winter if you don't want to play catch up all season, wich is exactly what will happen....

Like Wazari wrote in the PU Thread, they don't know when to stop researching and to actually begin testing.

Anf this is all just Honda, no one is even talking about all the Testing lost for McLaren.
does mclaren have no control over it ?. i guess as a partner they are entitled to get periodic progress updates. i am damn sure there will be a well laid plan shared with specific deadlines for different phases to start and finish and that must contain "Testing" phase..how can they keep developing till last day.

I wonder if they'll try a glory run for Friday, might as well just run it hard and see if it can even do a lap.

I don't think there is enough time to change engines between FP1 & FP2, and certainly not enough to change between FP3 & Q1.

Well... to be fair they did practice a lot during winter testing. If there's one thing McLaren's good at, it's changing Power Units.

The only thing they will be able to fix till Melbourne is the livery.

They know nothing, sadly. No runs on full power so its difficult to imagine how many laps they can do until the engine blows(no more than 30, for sure).

They have done this since 2015 and they are still together. They remind me those stormy relations which seem to end always but they continue.

Can they change a PU during the race? I think Liberty should allow that, no kidding!

I will just say one thing. their current PU is completely underdeveloped.
Mc Laren can ditch Honda in favour of Mercedes this year in which I think will happen

Disagree !!! Zak Brown also says they have contract until 2024.

And, when Honda comes right McLaren will cry themselves to death for jumping ship to early

Based on what exactly, Zak brown came out and said McLaren would honour the contract between them and Honda. So unless you know something that we don't? besides going with Mercedes is not the answer been said before they won't let a customer team win.
