Oh, yes, sorry, that was the year Alonso had a paddy because the team gave Hamilton equal machinery instead of making him the number #2 driver and Alonso got spanked by a rookie, right? ;)

A good read:

Looks like the reliability it's a thing of the past!

That's the truth unfortunately...and because of that season (2007) most people (even reporters) keep on hating Hamilton and calling him unsportsmanlike and going on to praise how good and stable Alonso and Vettel are! Guess they forget Hungary 2007 and Malaysia 2013...! =D>

Wasn't Hungary 2007 payback to Hamilton? That's what I've read

This is my prediction for the first three races:
Australia: ALO & VAN DNF
China: (PU change, position penalties grid) ALO DNF
Bahrein: 16th & 17th

Hope I'm wrong.

We spaniards have been suffering his extremelly biased comments for around 10 years, so now that past season we finally got rid of him (when F1 became PPV) last thing I want is continue reading his BS here on F1T.

I does support Alonso, but Lobato is just a fanboy who can´t even consider any fault at Alonso side. It´s always someone else fault. Also, his F1 knownledge is quite limited. He´s stated himself he had no idea about F1 before becoming F1 comentator, so please, don´t take any of his words as valuable info, because plain and simple, they´re not

You guys complain about Gary Anderson... he´s an expert when compared to Lobato
And you are an Alonso fan, just imagine how much we suffered the rest.

Anyway, the quality is decreasing too in Movistar, not at a Lobato level but it used to be better.

And yes, he was a football commentor so he had no idea about F1...anyway between him and the other guy who was with him at the beginning I prefered the second, at least he as funnier and knew something about F1. Damn, I don´t even remember his name hahaha.
Gonzalo Serrano, the only comentator I rate even lower than Lobato #-o

His program, MQC (Más que coches, more than cars) is the only automotive/motorsport related program I never stop at when doing zapping. And I watch almost anything!

Err, yes....that would be when Alonso tried to blackmail Dennis and magically came out of it scot free...
...not to mention having his teammates crash to give him the advantage at Renault
So a crash in 2009 orchestated by Briatore is the proof about how fair Dennis was with Alonso in 2007??? #-o

You can do much better Phillip

Magically? No, there was an investigation. If you don´t like the outcome or if you were willing to see Alonso punished is a different story
PhillipM wrote:He's a decent driver, and where he shines is getting the car in the right place to take advantage through the race
Well, this actually does explain your point of view. Only haters would rate Alonso just as a "decent driver"

I´ve read an article where they say Alonso is happy with 2017 cars, wich was a relief to me as an Alonso supporter, because with these winter tests I was afraid about his retirement. Remember he said himself his retirement was dependant on 2017 cars more than McHonda perfomance.

He said now they can drive, unlike previous seasons when they were forced to drive like a small child, nursing the tires to avoid overheating

To be able to drive the way you want and not like a small child, so the tyres don't overheat - that's the best way to feel a Formula 1 car.

It's been fun to drive freely again.

I just love this... Now rumors are surfacing that McLaren and Honda have a performance break-up clause of contracts and that McLaren is activating it at the end of this season... :D :D :D :D Some journous and portals really are desperate for click-bait... :)

Aparently now they will have to nurse the fuel, so he may loose his happiness quite quickly, especially if he sees races being destroyed for top teams in terms of fuel shortage in the cars.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

Time will tell, but if after winter tests he´s happy with the cars (2017 cars, not McHonda car) that´s a huge step forward for those of us who enjoy watching Alonso on track
