To give you an example, increasing the size of the windtunnel model by 10% increases the cost exponentially, but you're missing the point of endless pockets. If a team had it, it could take more risks and not worry if they pay off or not.Cold Fussion wrote: ↑02 Apr 2017, 03:29I don't know why so many people assume the "speed/unit cost" scales linearly when it doesn't make logical sense that it would. There is zero evidence to suggest that if Force India had the same budget as Mercedes they'd be as successful.NAPI10 wrote: ↑02 Apr 2017, 00:33FI has mastered the concept – Don’t do different things, just do it differently.
They will watch & learn from big boys and come with necessary upgrades by mid-season. They have always spent their dollars wisely; better than any other team.
If Liberty adopts model of revenue equalization and cost control; FI might succeed in clinching Title someday. [-o< [-o<
Remember Mercedes also took 4 years to win the constructors after coming back into the sport in 2010 and with their budget and spending power, they couldn't turn around their fortune in one season, if you have data of any team that has done so, I'd like to hear about it.
