My personal ranking and some wild guesses:

1. Hamilton - future multi-champion, as long as McLaren stay fast
2. Alonso - current multi-champion, might win again but probably not with Renault
3. Räikkönen - current champion, should win one more championship with Ferrari in 2008 or 2009 before retiring
4. Rosberg - surely a future champion
5. Vettel - possible future champion, amazing talent, relaxed and intelligent
6. Kovalainen - possible future champion, 2008 is make-or-break year
7. Kubica - possible future champion, but will he ever get a good enough car?
8. Button - one of the best out there but always in the wrong team, won't be champion
9. Massa - in the right team, but still won't be champion
10. Sutil - still a big unknown, but the boy seems FAST

1. Kimi - fast so long as the car stays together
2. Hamilton - could have been champion as a rookie
3. Alonso - beat Schumi twice
4. Rosberg - future champ
5. Heikki - will be great to see him in a good car
6. Button - if only all the races were in the wet...
7. Kubica - great aggressive driving
8. Massa - he replaced Rubens...
9. Heidfeld - Quick Nick is a great leader for BMW
10. Vettel - youngest ever to score a point

Note: Fortunately for us, this list is much easier this year without Ralf in F1. As he said, he was pretty much the third best driver on the grid. :^o

In a sports prototype there are few drivers that come close, when it comes to Le Mans he is probably the fastest guy out there, certainly the fastest consistantly. He's raced almost every series and had considerable success in many, but pure bad luck has cost him alot, some of his greatest drives have been snatched from him due to a problem outside his control, most reacently leading last years Le Mans by several laps before handing the car over to team mate Capello, only for the wheel to fall off after 40 laps.
2 ALMS titles (again with Capello) and a Le Mans victory should say enough.
Tom could have said, "I chose him 'cause he's a Scot."

My top ten for current drivers at the start of the season:

1./ 2 / 3 – Kimi / Fernando / Lewis - For the top three I think at the start of this season they are all on a very similar level. By the end of the season this will change with one coming out of top and this guy may not be the champion. I believe that Lewis will become the best driver, but maybe not the champion (too earlier to predict)

4. Nico Rosberg
5. Heikki Kovalainen
6. Nick Heidfeld
7. Robert Kubica

8. Mark Webber
9. Jenson Button

And now contentiously

10.- Sutil / Massa – impressed with Sutil last year in a below average car. With regards to Massa don’t get me wrong he is a very good driver but the drivers above him I feel are better. Massa is a multi-race winner, but only when everything goes okay, you don’t see him fighting / hustling for wins, take for example Japan last year where he was in a similar position to Kimi at the start but where as Kimi thought back to 3rd, Massa struggled to 5th.

6. Massa (underestimated, can´t deny he is fast, in the 2nd half of 2006 he adapted to Ferrari and was near Schumacher, in 2007 he beated Kimi several times)
7. Heidfeld
8. Kubica
9. Vettel
10. Webber (at qualy)

I haven´t seen Seba Bourdais and Nelsinho son can´t realy count them in (till now).
Trulli and Button are lost and tired.
Actually, I wouldn't underestimate either Button or Trulli. Both have proved last year they are pretty good, and in fact we knew already from the past.

As for Heidfeld and Kubica or maybe Massa, I can never consider them top drivers when being so dull. All of these need to profile a bit, give me more the impression that they live for racing instead of just "yeah, I kind of like it".

Yeah IMO Trulli made a few of the best passes of the year in 07. He got both the Renaults in a difficult corner (turn 8 I think) at Bahrain, and then he had a couple other good ones, maybe in Turkey, but of course I can't remember them right now. #-o Anyway Bahrain saw another of the best passes of the year: Heidfeld on Alonso... Alright who wants to start the "Best passes of 07" thread?? :D

Racing cars are neither beautiful nor ugly, they are beautiful only when you win races.

Yeah, thats not the "Senna" determination I love and would expect for a pure blood racing driver.

I´m considering them three cause Massa was closer to Schumacher than Barrichello was and then was close to Kimi, too. Then, BMW drivers where consistent, but also their car was good... don´t know what would happen if that was not the case. Maybe all them three haven´t got what it takes to push the team up, but neither has Trulli and Button, like 5 years each without making their team improve.

After these and Project Four comments I think Massa is falling down my ranking

BTW, I would like to see Sutil with a better car.
