The delta to Ferrari is 1.8 sec. Surely, some of that has to be the chassis.

The saddest part is he has slim chances to come to the end, points will be a challenge since fuel saving will come into the effect during the race.

Fuel saving is real problem.İf they don't need fuel saving they are competitive team of mid group. Let hope some gain at start and than keep saving position ( 7 or 8 finish ) If Alo can save position on straight I think he can easily maintain all the other parts of track, his position

Agreed. Alonso would of pulled a mega lap, but we have to say the chassis upgrade and the engine update played a part here. That reliability increase must of allowed them to lean on it a little more as they progressed in quali. The jump in pace was incredible.

Looks like the update worked, they're 1.9 seconds off pole where they've been 2.6 in previous races, hopefully they can narrow that gap with the Canada/Austria update.

Package is now in hatchling stage, no longer egg.

Wow, that was totally unexpected! Makes it even more sweeter. Stunning laps from Fernando there, and a first real good indicator of how good that chassis is. Great motivation for everyone at both Woking and Sakura! Come on Honda, find the power!

7th is darn impressive. It's Qualy I appreciate. Alonso saying they knew they had good pace in advance.
