Red Bull RB13 TAG Heuer

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The side pod radiator intakes seem smaller as well. Can anyone confirm / deny with a photo or am I mistaken?

Technician Adrian Newey made clear: "This is not a new car. Not even a half-new. We have brought a normal upgrade. "The new baffles and the part of the underfloor to which they are fastened face the eye. But there are also a few hidden changes to the brake ventilators and the side boxes. "The side boxes are different, but they can not be seen with the free eye. We have especially improved the airflow inside, "reveals Teamchef Christian Horner.

The problems with the correlation between the wind tunnel and the race track leave Newey only as an excuse: "It is true that we were greeted by the numbers. But that's happened to some other teams. The wider tires produce different air swirls when thought. "

One thing Newey admits. Ferrari has operated good lobbying at the FIA over the winter. The new interpretation of the chassis rules has hurt Red Bull. "It would be foolish not to admit it. However, dismantling the suspension does not explain all the problems. "

Also in that artical there is another interessting point.

Newey says he has been absent for 2 years to do other projects, and when he came back to design for the F1 team.
The communication between him and his co workers was not so good. He states that we need to work on the communication.

I wonder why Marko would made statements about a new car, maybe to uncover a moll?
On the dutch forum there was also talks about a RB14.

Very interesting stuff to speculate on, but perhaps a bit off topic.

On topic then:

I wonder what they did to the sidepods, the sharkfin does look a bit differrent, maybe a bit shorter?
Maybe other packaging to get more weight towards the backaxle?

Same diffuser from what I can tell.

I don't think RB13 problem is diffuser related, problems lie upstream and I'm sure sorting that will highlight diffuser and floor issues.

Diffuser should be updated soon though now that correlation issues are now understood and updates are seemingly working as expected.
