Your statement is actually not a fact, but a personal opinion. Because the "thought" you shared with us is purely subjective.

And how could people expect another '02-like season? F1 is not like the previous seasons anymore, with how the regulations are and the variety of race-winning capable drivers there is less of a probability that one single team will dominate the series. Especially how the top drivers are distributed rather evenly throughout various teams, such as Alonso at Renault, Raikkonen/Massa at Ferrari, and Hamilton at McLaren. And obviously there are many more talented drivers, but I just noted the most predominant ones that came to mind.

In addition, reliability levels have improved a lot, so there is less of a chance that a driver's competitiveness will be impeded by reliability problems (i.e Raikkonens troubles with his past Mercedes powered McLarens).

Good night..

Did you loose your history books son!
No, you didn´t get the point: to beat someone is to win the championship before him with a similar car.
When Schumacher won, Piquet and Senna were not racing, Patrese, Brundle, Herbert and Coulthard were not impresive fast drivers, Hill, Hikkinen and Villeneuve all beated Schumacher when they had good machinery, so you got MS with a car of another planet, beating Barrichello for 5 times.

I´m not saying here that MS was not good enough, he was an impresively fast, efficient and consistent driver. But he was not a god. He have never done what Ayrton did in Donington Park in 1993 or what Juan Manuel did in Nurburgring in 1957.

The same can be said with the classical Pele-Maradona coffee chat: Pele is like Schumacher, many records, lots of ability, no charisma, no morality and no magic.

Ask yourself why old true Ferrari fans (like my grandpa) still love Gilles Villeveuve or even Jean Alesi more than Schumacher.

He have never done what Ayrton did in Donington Park in 1993 or what Juan Manuel did in Nurburgring in 1957.
Or Alain Prost?

A hairy Frenchman reeking of talent, charisma, dare and his key, the mental stability to hold together a championship campaign. Often beating Senna, Lauda and Watson, Arnoux, Keke Roseburg, Mansell, Hill and Johansson in the same car. It should also be noted that Prost scored 11 more points than Senna in the 1988 season but only the top 11 results counted for the championship.

This argument however has been competed many times on this forum, it is generally agreed that both Prost and Senna were each others weakness and if it weren't for the other each could have done considerably better. True champions are the ones who can pull off these amazing performances against the odds, Kimi reacently proved he could have this quality, other notables include Nuvolari, Clark, Ascari, Brabham, Stewart, Graham Hill, Lauda, Piquet...Really the list is endless.

2008 may well be a Ferrari year, but as Sam Michael said, 2009 is the a great chance for teams like Williams, BMW, and Red Bull to really join the fight because of the overhaul to the regs/rules. I'm a big Williams fan, but I'm more a fan of F1 so no matter who wins I would be ecstatic to see 4 teams fighting for the championship instead of 1 or 2, so here's to 2009! :D

Yeah great, lets have another 4 years of Ferrari domination shall we?

F1 was so boring back in 2003. Now its half interesting because there actually is some competition, I know certain people don't like competition but sport without it is not sport.

Its Bernies fault I say, he cares more about what goes in hiw wallet than actual racing, to him its a business, and hes trying to get rid of the British GP, probrably the most popular event on the calendar because they aren't paying him enough, plus he has to please Ferrari because he doesnt want another situation like the early 80's does he, so if Ferrari want Mclaren penalised, they will get their way regardless. ;)

I hope Ferrari have some awful bad luck at the season start to humble them like Mclaren were, pride comes before a fall remember ;)

PS: If you continiue with your sensationalist posts people will just ignore you ;)

Well POL Troll, the question has to be asked, to win, is it more the car or driver? Most agree that in F1 that if the car is substandard, it's going to be a dog regardless. Witness the Ferrari effort of '06. Then if you agree that the car is important, just where does that put MS? Obviously he had superior cars. So maybe Michael Schumacher didn't walk on water, maybe his racing skills were just adequate under the circumstances with a superior car?
So what is it POL Troll, car or driver?

Oh, and by the way, pre-season testing is just testing, there is no way to truly determine pace until the actual race in Australia.
Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.

Pele in comparison to Maradona, no charisma, or magic? But then again as Maradona is your countryman, its your heart talking not your head so you are excused :D

Well, I hope it too. Many people think Ferrari are gonna walk it but they are far from reliable. They had an engine problem even on the last testing day. Like I said, far from reliable. Juast like the beginning of last year, were they lost a lot of points. I hope McLaren can hit back, hard... But then again, If McLaren will be fast, Ferrari will start searching for 'illegal' things at McLaren like they always do.

All I want to in 2008 season is a competition between 6-8 drivers or else a easy win by Fernando Alonso. :D
Racing cars are neither beautiful nor ugly, they are beautiful only when you win races.
