If the transmission broke it could definitely produce a lot of smoke, if transmission oil is showering the exhaust manifold.

Yeah because of that smoke I thought that it can't be just gb. thinking all gear changing problems they had lived I think they have to update some other machanics too near of engine

I cant stand this anymore, Mclaren needs to get out of the HONDA deal ASAP even if that means that they will not win championship in the next few years (till next engine rules) but atlest they will have a chance to develop their car and their drivers

Whit Mercedes PU as well as same engine maps and software and same fuel&lub suplier as works Merc team i dont see why not....again today ex drivers reporting car(aero and mechanics) looking excelent on track.
Plus there is Alonso.

Because Mercedes will give them same engine maps and fuel....

To me it doesn't matter. Peter P and his team can build a good chassis and so McLaren can at least be fighting for race wins even if not championships. This will allow them to return to the top end of the sport and gain some new sponsors etc. It will also buy them time to find a new long-term partner now to prepare a PU for the new rules as soon as they're finalised.
