Lewis Hamilton has won the British Grand Prix for the fifth time in his career. Valtteri Bottas finished second after a late race charge while both Ferraris dropped down the order following left front punctures close to the end. Raikkonen salvaged by completing the podium.
Autosport reports:
14:44 Hamilton sets a new fastest lap of the race. He needs to extend enough of a gap to third placed team-mate Bottas to avoid getting jumped in the pits. Raikkonen is under threat from Bottas for second if this keeps up - lapping a second slower than the Mercedes drivers at present.
How could Hamilton be under threat by Bottas? Or is it more that the S is mandatory tire, so Hamilton couldnt pit for mediums and thus is on a forced 2 stop? Or...?
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II #Team44 supporter
