To add something to the thread, correct reply is option 3. Sound is not only dependant on rpm, no valves and causing explosion each cycle or each two cycles change it all.
Compare a 2T 250cc MX bike sound with any other from a 4T, it doesn´t matter if it´s 250cc (same displacement), 500cc (similiar displacement per cycle), monocylinder, twin, rpm... no 4T engine will ever sound similar to a 2T 250. Using this example because, apart from I´ve owned a Kawa 250 2t for several years, this engine type and size have very similar options in 2T and 4T, like 250 4t, 250 2t, 450
4t... and there´s even twin cylinder wich was used on the RD350. But it doesn´t matter what parameter
you want to keep constant, sound will always be very very different
