So your point about him in comparison with the best was? By these figures he's the most consistent of the lot!

The point missed by many of the detractors is that he's achieved these stats despite not having a dedicated contracted number two driver, more like Prost and Senna than like Schumaker and Vettel.

- Grabbed pole position in every season he has been in F1 thus far.

That suggests he has only driven cars capable of achieving pole and victory in every season. Did his teammates do the same during those seasons?

I think it's different. I think he doesn't want a no.1/2 status within the team. Both drivers should have equal chances to win the WDC. This is not the same as not wanting Fernando being his teammate at Merc. I think by that, Lewis is saying if Fernando is his teammate and there's no no. 1/2 status within the team, it would be close between the two and there's chance that Fernando might beat him. With Valterri it seems he's fully confident that he has him in his pocket.

They were more than willing to sacrifice Bottas... If Lewis managed to get past Kimmi... Something they forgot about in their "act"

I think it's different. I think he doesn't want a no.1/2 status within the team. Both drivers should have equal chances to win the WDC. This is not the same as not wanting Fernando being his teammate at Merc. I think by that, Lewis is saying if Fernando is his teammate and there's no no. 1/2 status within the team, it would be close between the two and there's chance that Fernando might beat him. I think the answer is far easier than all of that. Hamilton has experienced what it's like to be only battling your team-mate for the past 3 years. It was difficult and the climate at the team wasn't good (garage A vs garage B). Right now, with Mercedes battling Ferrari, the team is much more united which of course means that both Mercedes drivers are less hostile towards each other and are battling together (to a degree) to overcome the challenge by their competitors.

Hamilton also had the experience to team-up with Alonso. Not wanting him in the team does not mean he is afraid of the challenge he would pose, but there's no denying that the team-up at McLaren caused a lot of friction, as did the eventual climate at Mercedes when Rosberg was still around and both were fighting for the WDC. Also, it's not Hamilton's choice either way. To think so would be foolish.

Why Merc doesn't sign Alonso? If Hamilton has no problem with other "number one" in the team it would be the best choice.

Why would bringing in Alonso be better? The team is leading the manufacturers' battle and one of their drivers is leading the drivers' battle with the other one still bringing in good points. What would Alonso bring that would make it better? How could it be better for Mercedes than it currently is?

The risk with Alonso is that he makes the team toxic as he did in 2007.
