Thanks, it's torn down right now getting prepped for a race next month.
I've put it on it's side a couple of times, but nothing that couldn't be buffed out.

Hmmmm. I don't think I ever introed myself.

60 years old (anyone older?)

F1 fanatic since the 1960's. Ferrari fan.

Auto mechanic back in the days of drum brakes and carburetors. Then 7 years as university English professor, 21 years in high tech marketing, now in Internet auto sales (Toyota).

Have 1998 Nissan 200SX SE-R with slotted rotors, SS brake lines, EBC pads, Hot Shot cold air intake, SS tube header and exhaust, underdrive pulley, modified ignition, Suspension Techniques sway bars, Tein coil-over suspension, Nitto tires, etc. All done by me. Have put 4 children through college (one still there) so turbo out of the question. NOS and cams are next.

Experience in rallying (got good enough for two owners to let me drive their cars - wrecked both of them #-o ) and drag racing.

Hobbies: my car, F1, history, cooking, gardening, dreaming of the days when a handful of smart guys with a FEW million $ could field a decent F1 team.

I am the mysterious G-Rock.
I'm 33, recently married, organic farmer and an F1 fan since the 1983 Detroit GP. I live in Ontario, Canada about 1 hour southeast of Detroit but now I have to drive 9 hours to get to Montreal to see a race.

The name is Ray. Served 5 years in the Unites States Marines breaking, I mean fixing, F/A-18's and got out as a Sergeant. I traveled to 15 countries throughout Asia and Europe, was in Al Asad Iraq for a bit, got out and am now working for Pratt & Whitney in Georgia but hoping to get a job at Sikorsky. Want to get my degree in mechanical engineering but not sure if I'm smart enough. Watched F1 at the tender age of 16, quit watching the Michael Schumacher Show shortly thereafter and got back into it heavily about 3 years ago. None of my family have any clue what it is, even though they are huge racing fans.

Hello to everyone.
I recently joined. Ruaraidh is the name, said rooree. From Scotland and not old enough to remember most of the 90s haha.
I've been watching F1 for a long time. Started wtching F1 during the late 90's on and off but have relatively recently got really "in" to it especially the aero side of things.

This site has a vast array of nationalities and people, excellent!

Re: Introduce yourself here

hi,
I'm from the land of Lederhosen and Oktoberfest with the whiteblue flag. My background is mechanical engineering with a master and doctor degree back in the 70ties. My dad got me hooked on F1. he was a huge fan of Jim Clarke. so I grew up believing Lotus was the finest race car and Chapman was the man. with the university smack between Spa and the Nürburgring Nordschleife we often shifted the study work to the weekend and took the bikes for a spin in the Ardennes or the Eiffel during the week. We had a great time figuring out how to make everything better in terms of avoiding nuclear power plants in particular plutonium breeders and promote efficient power systems. Then energy became cheap again and nothing took off. I like reading English and chatting in English and spend some years in the UK, USA and Australia. Of late I'm more concerned with management and economic issues than engineering although I run projects with mainly technical issues. I have watched F1 races at Silverstone and Indy and it has allways thrilled me to watch those beasts. Initially Schumi inspired me by his awesome professionality and dedication. lately I distribute my sympathies a bit broader and keep an open eye. BMW and Berger's STR are teams I would like to succeed. I'm also rooting for Vettel and Rosberg. I think that F1 is better than many people believe and that the FIA is right to promote efficiency in racing. The how often needs a bit more debate. I came across this place by reference of Ciro and I'm excited about it.
Formula One's fundamental ethos is about success coming to those with the most ingenious engineering and best .............................. organization, not to those with the biggest budget. (Dave Richards)

Hello,
My name [as may be apparent] is Alex. I am from the East coast of the USA in Philadelphia. I am currently a Mechanical Engineer in University. I love F1 for the constant development and new ideas. As a member of my College's Formula SAE team I love what I do; looking towards the future I want to be an engineer in F1.

It´s been a while I´m posting here, but WTF...

I´m Ignacio Belatti (only 1 "L" and 2 "Ts" please #-o ), mechanical engineer student in UTN (Universidad Tecnologica Nacional). 26, single, working as project engineer in a chemical plant (coatings). Live in Pilar, a town 60km away from Buenos Aires. Have a little 125cc Kart experience (tested a couple of times for my cousin, 0,5sec faster  he prohibited to me testing it again).
Fanatic of any speedy thing/sport, like bungee jumping, snowboarding, wakeboarding, biclycle racing, any type of racing! Although, as I respect others life, dont like to speed with my car (unless in lonely routes :D ) Also love Paintball!

I love TC since I was a kid and like F1 since the males from all my family get infront of TV to watch Senna kick asses, but definitively fell in love since Argentine 1995 GP. I could say I heard the last V12 in F1 and it sounded that Loud and high-pitched as my dad say it sounded back in 1978 with Gilles and Carlos

Re: Introduce yourself here

OK, I'm pretty new around here, so here I go.

I'm Miguel (duh!), and was born (and live) in the basque country, in northern Spain. I am a 26 years old physicist on my way to a PhD in electronic properties at high pressure (several GPa).

I started F-1 around 1994, and have been following with passion ever since. Both my father and brother follow F1, too, and we used to gather in front of the TV to watch the races (yes, even for Australia and Japan). My brother is now in Barcelona and I live 100km away, so we don't gather often these days. I support Fernando Alonso and favourite team is Williams. I also follow some other motorsports, especially MotoGP (and 250 cc) and the GP2. Oval racing doesn't attract me much, though.

On other fronts, I like music (from classical to rock, and almost anything if it's live), reading and playing golf. Computing is also a hobby of mine, but I'm one of those linux geeks, so beware!

EDIT: I have no racing experience, but I'd love to have a go with a kart, even if it's only to feel the only non-understeering thing I may drive.
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.
