Honda Power Unit Hardware & Software

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

I still wondering how much RON the fuel has, but i think 80 RON is more probable than 115 RON. With 18 CR and 4 bar boost i dont think 115 RON could handle, and jet chamber is a really big issue out there because of rich mixture. I think the engine inject main chamber 3-5 time and 1 big shoot to jet chamber in the last injection, so plug is a formality or needed only on low load. If all holes in injector designed to open independently, still count as one injector right?

If you're talking about this tweet https://twitter.com/AlbertFabrega/statu ... 7430919168 he doesn't say spec4. He says "latest evolution". Honda have had plenty of evolutions so far this year.

There’s no logic in Honda running ‘WAzari Spec 4’- this won’t happen.

If Fabregas talks spec 4 it’s an evolution from 3.7.

Maybe there are 2 spec 4 :P 1 for McLaren with the latest upgrades for this year and 1 spec 4 for next year (different concept, same version number).

Actually there is ZERO logic in NOT running it this year.
They need all the miles in car they can get. This much is obvious after this year.
Anyone who thinks otherwise - Well.

If you look at the latest from Hasegawa he basically says that they have stopped their constant upgrade plan for the balance of 2017 in favor of one more substantial upgrade. If you put these things together: only one more update this season (substantial)-->an engine upgrade is available for their home race-->only one of these engines will be available, speculation of course, but it stands to reason it would be a "Spec. 4".

They need to accumulate 5 races worth of running on any engine regardless of what spec that is.
As it stands I don't think they have a single ICE with more than 2 races on it (and it looks even worse for TC/MGUH)

Good luck getting it to last 3 times longer next year.

Fuel in pre-chamber, oil(Fumes) in main chamber and do remember that the oil MB uses isn't nothing like 0-20W you use in your car or any other racing oil used in the World.

Back in the early 90's I raced RC Outriggers and I used a top-secret oil that we used in F1.Most people used castor oil with mix rate of 20-25%,others used Synthetic oil with mix rate of 15-17%.The oil I was using was at a mix rate of 8% and the only negative was it was hard to clean up,turned everything it touched yellow.Bottom-line is their are some crazy oils out there.
Sounds like castor oil.
