What's all this fuss about slowing down F1 cars? F1 happens to be the pinnacle of motorsport, & the cars should be in a league of their own! They should be fast, I reackon we should make F1 faster! Heres how:
1. Introduce Twin-Turbos on the existing 3.0litre V10's (That way teams dont have to spend more money on R&D of engine blocks, just materials to withstand the new found power from the Turbos!)
2.Bring back Slicks with unlimited tyres available to each driver
3.Bring back side skirts & active suspension!
4.Arm F1 cars with motorised/hydraulic/pneumatic wings controlled by a computer/PLC to give max. downforce on corners & straights (If the drivers experience too much G-forces so what? Give them pressure suits!)
5.In the event of an accident, the cockpit should be fitted with an all arounf airbag/foam bag that deploys upon impact...
6.Make rules more flexible so that it allows engineers to test new systems & ultimately allow technology to filter down to our everyday cars.... Last thing to come out of F1 was Active Suspension back in the 90's, nothing after that, although F1 has given us turbos, ABS, traction contol etc... we need more!
7.To make races more interesting & to aid 'overtaking' split a 60 lap race into 2 races of 30 laps. After race 1, race 2 will be a full reverse grid, which means we might get to see Bruni or Baumgartner on pole & Schumi on P22!..... Imagine the carnage at the start of race 2!
Got any more suggestions? Drop in a line....
Although my ideas are far fetched, I'd like to know what fantasies exist out there....
Cheers,
Anson!
