I am surprised as blunt as he is, didn't mention who in fact actually is responsible for the manufacture of the current MGU-H unit and where it's being built.
That's the most intriguing bit, never mind Alonso and Toyota ! Hmm, surely not Woking ?
I always thought that the MGU-H was manufactured by Honda. It could be an external company.

Wazari san, this comment of yours make me think that Honda is not fully responsible for the manufacture of the MGU-H and some external party is the one responsible. Now, the design is 100% Honda responsibility, right? So if I´am reading right some of the problems that we saw in the past with this part are not Honda fault.

Yes, Honda talk a lot about bearings etc. and there was talk about the aerospace division helping out, so I imagine a Honda design (or joint design with some specialist company, maybe even McL, maybe not), manufactured externally or with some components manufactured externally. Problems may have been due to a variety of reasons, some design of MGU-H, some integration with ICE and in-chassis, some manufacturing. OK, I've added not much insight, just listed all the possibilities (but think Honda must be involved, so not completely outsourced) !

Wazari could you please answer my question in the previous page about a possible Alonso Toyota test this year? I'm very curious about the Honda-Toyota rivalry and how it's seen in Japan.
Alonso is under contract with McLaren. I think most people including myself think it's not a big deal.

What's the issue with Vandoorne lately? The guy is being smashed by Alonso for quite a few qualifying sessions lately.

It must have been hard for him today. For the past races, he´s been "hiding" behind Alonso having the new wing. For this weekend they had the same package and...

Another thing to take into account, Alonso is a competitive monster. He seems very motivated with the whole Renault deal and the fact that he's behind Stoffel in the drivers standing must be more than enough to bring out those infamous "0.300" of his to the table :)

6 tenths at Interlagos is just a joke, McLaren should have serious doubts about him.

i criticize honda hard all this time ..but for me after long time looks like make a small step ...the car last time is 0.4 maybe 0.5sec faster and something on this gains is from honda...and this small step have huge effect on lap times...ok the team have new wing and suspension set up work ..but all the gains is not only from there ...for the first time in this 3 years i see mclaren gain ground from leaders and show progress from last years ...

According to the team report, Stoffel had food poisoning last night, so maybe he was not full 100% fit to drive today. That, added to this being his first run at Interlagos could explain the deficit.

He'll be ok in Abu Dhabi, he knows the track well. Brazil is an old school track, and even though the lap is short there's little tricks you can only learn by years of experience with the track.

I'd have to agree with that, although the surface has been changed quite a bit over the years the old school bumps, dangers and stuff still remain.

Personally I love the place :)

I was thinking it tracks he's never raced at before.

This article says the opposite of the AMuS article about the chassis. This guy wrote that they are behind in the high speed corners and top in the slow speed corners, AMuS wrote that McLaren is top in the high speed corners and behind in the low speed corners.
Mclaren is not slower than the top cars on any kind of corners, anymore, as many videos out there already showed. And that is also clear by how fast they have been doing in these last few GPs where the rubbish PU is not holding them back as much as on other places

As far as I can tell McLaren is 7kph down on the straights to Renault, which is the same gap Renault has to Mercedes/Ferrari. To me this says that Honda have improved somewhat, as at the beginning of the season the gap to Renault was larger than the gap Renault had to Mercedes/Ferrari.

It speaks well of the chassis, that the car is able to outqualify the Force Indias which were 16kph faster on the straights, Bottas was some 2 or 3kph slower so I'm guessing that's the difference the added drag from the superior Mercedes chassis makes. So if the McLaren chassis was super efficient, maybe they'd gain 3 or 4 kph down the straight(the difference between Red Bull and the factory Renault), the difference is just a lack of power. To get an extra 12kph down the straight the difference is ~60hp overall, which is more or less what others have speculated.

I think renault as Honda are pretty close right now, today there is the possibility as a Mclaren Honda finish in front of Redbull if things are not going tits up as Verstapen is having problems with engine
