I'd rather have teams have special testing liveries that are a bit wild and whacky, rather than asking teams to run a test livery throughout the season.

Motorsport (NL) reports that Ricciardo had a crash in de RB14 during his shakedown yesterday. That may explain why he looked so sad/angry in some pictures, he still managed to completed 2/3 of the shakedown programme. Aside from the crash the shakedown went well except from small a fuel leak (they had to detach the floor in order to fix that.

On the plus side. The parts all had the "one off" livery on them, so they probably already had replacements on their way to testing with the real livery on them.
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Will look crazy if they replace only the broken parts with real livery

Red Bull has a smaller but similar budget to Mercedes and Ferrari. Does anyone know how this compares financially to a works team, when considering the engine cost differences?

RB doesn't build engines but pays for them, and doesn't sell engines. I wonder how it balances out... If Red Bull has more money to spend than their rivals after removing the engines from the financial equation. Maybe they have more money to spend on aero etc than Mercedes, or less?

You'd have to say instantly more with Adrian Newey on the books. It's a safe bet he's on an astronomical salary compared to other aerodynamicists. Besides staff, there's only so much money you can throw at it, although better and more powerful computing capabilities for CFD probably chisels away at their budget.

actually no, i've expected greenish elements or a different livery due to AstonMartin being more 'involved' (sponsorwise)
"Explain the ending to F1 in football terms"
"Hamilton was beating Verstappen 7-0, then the ref decided F%$& rules, next goal wins
while also sending off 4 Hamilton players to make it more interesting"

A little sad the blue/white livery was only a launch livery, not even a testing livery ....
