Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 C37

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

These cars would look really good without those stupid halo's. Such an eyesore

Car looks very nice. Impressed by the split side pod intake

Nose looks strange on different pictures.. Is that an s-duct or not?

finally (jump) jet pods!

blade roll hoop makes me cringe though.
Love the side pod intakes, and the roll hoop solution may not be a bad idea - the blade can help stabilize the air coming off the halo.

Sauber seems to have adopted a flat front wing similar to the one Mclaren trialed at the end of 2016.

As for the S-duct, yes there is one.
In fact, Sauber has two subsequent S-duct exits. One just ahead of the Pirelli logo, and one just downstream of it.

Indeed, two openings; could well be one is the left and one the right opening in the nose, tuned to have similar pressure, velocity profiles, similar to how Ferrari had two largely seperate ducts running through the nose for its s-duct.

Interesting ideas, seems much improving from last year car. Maybe to much holes, so could be dragy one.
I like side mirrors design, very clever.
