So air goes through the mirror housings and into the top sidepod opening? Anyone remembering something like that?

It looks like the air might be split by the internal cone shape and exhausted around the edge of the mirror and mirror body surround.

Mirror aerodynamic development is mostly dictated by the aim of reducing the drag of a flat reflective surface. Curving the top and bottom surface around substantially reduced drag. However, any 'boat tailing' added to a baseline mirror configuration would still generate a wake behind that sends lossy flow on top of the sidepod and towards the top of the diffuser.

Ferrari opened up the front of the mirror, which fills in the wake behind the mirror with a fresh, more energetic freestream air. It also decreases profile drag as the pressure difference between upstream and downstream of the mirror is reduced because of this channel (top and bottom duct).

Fairly innovative, I would say the mirror wings are in the same class as the RB nose hole.

Yes, I think these mirrors are going to appear up and down the grid very quickly.

Guys, what are those 2 things on the airbox? Looks like 2 wings. I've seen them only in this pic. Is there maybe a render error, or tried they to photoshop something out?

Seemingly T-wings were only limited by placement height, not width.

Factor in the topside inlet area, as well. The total inlet area is not so unusual.
