Scuderia Ferrari SF71H

The undercut at the floor of the 71H is more extreme when compared to the 70H. The curve has a tighter radius as can be seen below:

That rear part is incredibly tight. The packaging is amazing, it seems that they have done again a great job.

Mirrors are located way too back for them to be feeding the upper sidepod slot. They are sloted purely for drag reduction.

When viewed from above, it’s clear the mirrors are perfectly aligned with the upper sidepod inlet. The downwash the mirrors internal wing creates pushes more airflow into the sidepods for better cooling. Nothing like this has ever been seen before, there are no rules to prevent this, so Ferrari have a clever trick to make their sidepods work even better, using what are very literally wing mirrors!

In 2017 rules declared illegal that part of the floor, or i remember wrong?
Because the cut part of the floor was flexing. They fixed that later by bonding a sheet of metal to reinforce the area.

Like a second element of floor coming down?
that s just white track line
Ha ha, oh yeah. Funny when your eyes just can’t quite make sense of what they’re seeing.

That image is funny. I assume it's not a serious attempt to explain air flow in this region?
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Are you seriously trying to say its for drag reduction? Really? If that is the case then you dont belong on here.

You explain the air flow in that region then....its not rocket science, you can clearly see what they are trying to do.

If its for drag reduction then why has no one done it before? And why is it only ferrari doing it this year? I mean cmon the answer is so simple.

I personally think the holes are to direct airflow to negate any lowering of pressure on the top of the Ferrari sidepods created by the upper sidepod vents "stealing airflow" and possibly creating lift due to the lowering of the pressure. Creating the small wing in the mirrors directing the airflow down towards the top of the sidepods and away from any disturbance created by the Halo
