McLaren MCL33

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Seems "wheels don't come off no less" either.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

totally irrelevant to the technical discussion but;

why is 'chandon' suddenly gone (probably to the lower part of the rear wing) and there's the 'falling star' logo of it instead now? :wtf:

different rear wing?

That was from the filming day so they're probably shooting something for those markets where you can't advertise alcohol. (That falling star logo is the one they use in those races where they can't advertise)

That rear end suspension looks suspiciously like the rear end of the rb14. Did mclaren buy the rear end from Red Bull for 2018?
I would say it's not entirely surprising. One would expect Prodromou's philosophy to be close to that of RBR, but also Macca have moved to the Renault PU and one would also assume that the optimal packaging and component placement for that PU and gearbox has been shaped massively by its instalment in the RBR over the years.

Yes, the Macca lost a wheel due to a problem with a wheel nut, but these sort of comments should be discussed on the testing thread and not on the MCL33 technical thread.
