that is interesting, the rear bodwork really curves out two two big rounds, what would that be beneficial for? Air flow adherence? Cooling outlet?!

Merc not mounting any fairings on the Halo for the moment probably really means they have something much different from the other teams in store. At least as much to justify not putting the "default" fairings on....

Nozzles? The air pressure in the sidepods is quite a bit above ambient.

It looks like they have raised them compared to last years W08. This probably allows for greater airflow over the diffuser.

Fluids follows curvated surfaces better than squarish ones (pipes are good example).

The central section of the W09's diffuser is now flat, just like the one Ferrari trialed last season.

when you look at the front suspension top-down, you see that the pushrod is mounted to the upright, and is inboard a certain distance from the axis of rotation of the wheel. so as the wheel pivots, the distance from the pushrod mount on the chassis to the pushrod mount point on the uprights lengthens. as the pushrod length is static, that means that pushrod is pulling on one side and pushing on the other. if you mount the pushrod forward of the axle, that should lower one side and raise the other. i believe this is why the A-arms aren't parallel, in order to induce a tilting of the upright, and thus wheel under load.

disclaimer: this is my idea of how it would work. i have to admit i didn't give it a proofread.

Yes I get it now The pushrod attachment is slightly offset where it meets the upright one side attached via ball joint on the front off the upright.....and the other side to the rear of upright as the steering is moved ....the ride height lowers very clever
