Incredible difference for being the same car, but must surely fit within the same philosophy for the rest of it?Morteza wrote: ↑01 Mar 2018, 13:34Red Bull testing with different front wing flaps today

So they were removing those parts because they weren't secure enough.
https://drivetribe.com/p/f1-what-update ... v4uYzvdKIQEach sidepod houses an intercooler for the turbocharger, then there is only space for a smaller water radiator. The roll hoop inlet, while small and rounded is the inlet for the rest of the cars cooling and breathing needs. The inlet splits horizontally internally into three, the upper inlet feeds a large water radiator for the hybrid system mounted behind the engine, the middle inlet feeds the engine’s airbox and the lower inlet splits left and right to duct air to the oil coolers mounted either side of the engine. This places a lot of weight high up over the engine and makes access to the engine being surrounded by coolers somewhat tricky. It has to be the case that the aero benefit of the shaped sidepods pays in, performance for the losses in Centre of Gravity height and slightly bulkier top bodywork.
These are just the covered mounting holes of the halo structure... nevertheless, they might double up as fairing/winglet fixation points, but that's pure speculation.Sieper wrote: ↑03 Mar 2018, 14:48So look, there are 3 covered over holes at the rearmost ends of the halo (so we will see a surprise aero extension last day of testing or come australia possibly) and what are these elongated square covers on top of the upper sidepot wing for, maybe also for another aero fairing?
Probably a facility to add outlet grilles for hot weather races. The radiators are just below those panels.Sieper wrote: ↑03 Mar 2018, 14:48what are these elongated square covers on top of the upper sidepot wing for, maybe also for another aero fairing?

Patches to cover screws? Great photo, lowing the natural flow called rainSieper wrote: ↑03 Mar 2018, 14:48what are these elongated square covers on top of the upper sidepot wing for, maybe also for another aero fairing?

Indeed, the 3 dimples to the rear of the halo are indeed the screw covers, halo standard parts, Thanks for those pics. The end of the wings are detachable (interchangeable) so indeed likely with those patches the locking mechanism for that is covered.
