Don't know if that's good or bad.
Its bad
Ok Then who's making Renault batteries?
I am quite certain that they (Renault) do not!
The problem/failure of the battery could be caused by a number of things. The battery itself, a fault in the CE, the H-unit or even the K-unit.

So does it "smell" a Renault K-unit again?

So many knee jerk reactions. Red bull had a disastrous day in the first test where they were plagued by fuel leaks and problems of the like. No ones going all doom and gloom about them. Why can't mclaren peacefully get on with their testing without someone going all out against them or at least with reasonable comments or discussion? Why all the hype around mclaren? I see it everywhere, BBC live feed racefans, here now and again, planetf1, you name it.

If mclaren were still with Honda we would know exactly what engine spec was installed, how many development engines there were before the Melbourne spec goes in, what changed, what updated and how much horsepower was gained. I don't hear a single peep from Honda this year nor Renault, nor Toro Rosso, and I'm glad about that. Makes a nice change.

But there's still so much unwarranted hype I just don't understand

Rant over, sorry

one problem, yes... two problems, it's very bad luck, three different problems... that is a pattern.

Could this be some kind of a marketing strategy? I mean... it's really bad luck, that the first team to get a problem and a car stopped on track, is Mclaren.

I'm pretty sure the burn marks were different last week - way more darker&pronounced...
so this is not the original cover

Also according to Fabregas the engine cover was cut in order to get even better cooling

im more and more starting to think it was Mclarens fault honda engines failed with heat etc... i mean, they are running Renault now, and guess what.. electrical and burning failures all around again... they cook the electronics and engine....
