Not a lot I'd imagine, in terms of performance it's not worth much at all - maybe nothing if you're already turning your exhaust flow well enough to help link the diffuser flow with the wing - which is why most teams already have winglets and gurneys on the crash structure.mclaren111 wrote: ↑15 Mar 2018, 12:51
What are the chances of Mclaren following Renault's exhaust layout and angle ?
No - there can be only one exhaust (plus 2 wastegate exhausts). Exhausts have to exit within 100mm the car centre line, between 220mm and 235mm rear of the car centre line. The last 150mm must be a straight, circular cylinder. It may point 5° side to side, and 5° up, but no more.FW17 wrote: ↑15 Mar 2018, 15:48Is a periscope allowed?

The photo you posted isn't actually showing a central periscope (it is two symmetrical exhaust exits either side of he engine cover) but I don't think there's anything in the rules that would restrict one per sé.FW17 wrote: ↑15 Mar 2018, 16:37Totally aware of thatMoose wrote: ↑15 Mar 2018, 16:33No - there can be only one exhaust (plus 2 wastegate exhausts). Asked if a periscope bodywork can be done over the exhaust pie on top of the crash structure

I'd say the openings and inlets were already there during testing, shape wise it's probably a bit different but I'd assume they function the same.
