Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

AFAIK, all Mercedes customers have “qualiymode” available to them. It’s just that Williams and ForceIndia use them in Q1/Q2 already to make it into Q3 whereas Mercedes can get away with only using it in Q3, which is why it seems there is a huge jump in performance vs their customer teams.

That and the point that teams run their own fuels etc, so the performance might not be equal across all the teams even if the engine is identical. That and as Dans put it, differing cooling approaches/packaging etc.
According to an interview with Toto with regards to a customer team not using the same fuel and oil supplier as the works team he said, "Our teams have always used Petronas, apart from McLaren. It was never a question, because strategically you need to make sure that you are on the same performance levels, and therefore have the same fluids, as the works team.

We're all using the same fuels, because we're calibrating our engines on one spec of fuel other than McLaren when they had MB engines all of their customers".

I take this as Williams and Force India are running Petronas fuels and oils and any deals a customer team has like Force India's Ravenol deal are purely commercial.

Just click "YouTube" in the bottom right and it will take you to the video on YouTube and it will play fine. Apparently FOM doesn't like this particular website for some reason!

Just looking at that screen shot of Vettel in that video, have they have changed the hideous "A" to a normal A ?

Edit, Nope, lowercase A's are still in idiot font. Just skipped through and found at 9min 37sec the name Haas has 2 of those annoying A's. if they follow a letter like s or c they almost join up and make it difficult to read. #-o

Does anyone know what the camber limit and tyre pressure were for Albert Park last year? This year it is -3.75 for front and -2.0 for rear, 22psi for front and 19.5psi fro rear, I don't think they crossed the -3.0 camber front tyre limit on any track last year.
The cheapest sort of pride is national pride, every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud adopts, as a last resource, pride in the nation to which he belongs; thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.

Very interesting comments about not now seeing the helmets due to the Halo. Vettel's idea of using the halo itself as a way of spotting the different drivers is a good idea actually.

Updated forecast, high chance of rain all day on Saturday, dry race, mostly, some chance of changing conditions (wet/dry).

so FP2 is likely to be very busy testing race setups, i might actually get up 2 hours early to watch it. fp3 will be almost pointless, except for drivers adapting to the conditions for quali

Dunno, after the presser, I get the impression that heath wanted some photos and Hamilton ignored him, played music on his music speaker. You know, fairly standard f1 diva stuff. Just guessing though as heath hasn’t elaborated.

That explains it, Heath seems act like a child when someone won't let him get the shot he wants! God forbid someone doesn't want a camera in their face 24/7/365.

If I was on Twitter, I'd remind him that the drivers owe him nothing. He doesn't pay them for the pictures he takes and sells, they are under no obligation to pose for him at his convenience.

He's having a hissy fit and moaning about other people's egos. It's rather amusing, in an ironic way.
