Your Driver List for 2009 (Driver Rumors Thread)

Post

You can change this thru the season if you feel the need, but what is your driver list gonna be for 2009???

Heres mine so far:

Ferarri: Kimi/Massa
McLaren: Lewis/Hekki
BMW Sauber: Kubica/Alonso
Renault: Nelshinho/Sutil
Williams: Rosberg/Nakajima
Red Bull: DC/Webber
Toyota: Trulli/Kobyashi
Honda: Button/Sato
Toro Rosso: Bourdais/Davidson
Force India: Fisi/Davidson

Rubhino - Retire from the sport after another "poor" season at Honda.
Glock - Get the boot from Toyota after being a trainwreck thru the season

WOW! You kept Piquet and canned Vettel...

But for the rumors, I'll hold out till the end of the season. It is very early, and we haven't even figured out who the "key" mover is this year.

Ferrari: Kimi, Massa
McLaren: Lewis, Hekki
BMW: Kubica, Trulli
Renault: Alonso, Senna (Jr)
Red Bull: Webber, DC
Honda: Jenson, Sato
STR: Bourdais, Vettel
Force India: Sutil, Davidson (or perhaps Vijays Indian rookie)
Toyota: Heidfield, Glock
Williams: Rosberg, Nakajima

I have a sinking feeling that Jarno is going to be tired of not having a winning car. BMW would love to have his expertise in qualifying to replace Heidfields lack of results.

As a result, Toyota picks up Heidfield.

Renault will pick up another rookie to replace Piquet (whom will disappear into F1 Alumni)

Takuma will head back to Honda to back up Jenson like the good old days.

Fisico will move into a testing role and FIF1 will pick up Davidson.

Fisi, Trulli, DC, Picquet and (possibly) Heidfeld gone from F1. Partially wishful thinking partially a move to younger more PR-savvy and CHEAPER talent.

Looking like definates at the moment:

Ferarri: Kimi/Massa
McLaren: Lewis/Hekki
BMW Sauber: Kubica/
Renault:
Williams: Nakajima/
Toyota:
Honda: Jenson/
Red Bull: Webber/
STR Ferarri: Bourdais/
Force India: Sutil/

Uncertain List:
Davidson, Sato, Trulli, Glock, DC, Vettel, Heidfield, Rosberg, Fisi.

Im shure there may be a surprise or two, in terms of drivers from maybes other formulas coming in, maybes Andretti and Danica from Indi/IRL, someone from A1GP, and i wouldnt mind Jerome Bleakomollen from the Porche Supercup in a F1 car, as well as a couple of the GP2 drivers as well.

And could there maybes be a couple of new teams with someone buying the old Super Aguri (ART F1???) team and getting works Honda power and maybes a entry from Prodrive, meaning they will be looking fro drivers.

why is everybody saying rosberg is going to leave williams? As all he has ever said is he wants to stay there. In some ways he is to williams as Lewis is to mclaren? I dont think he is going anywhere.

Megz why do you think Nakajima will be replaced? If he does I think he will find a ride somewhere else because he is a good driver with some serious potential. Afterall he scored in Monaco while the two World Champions crashed and he also managed to stay out of trouble in Australia and came away with 3 points. He was taken out by Fisi in Turkey and the Williams were slow in Malaysia, so we really haven't seen what he can do yet.

he was bloody lucky to be able to continue himself in Melbourne where he ran into the back of Kubica finishing Robert's race.

Heres mine:

Ferarri: Kimi/Massa
McLaren: Lewis/Hekki
BMW Sauber: Kubica/Heinfeld
Renault: Grosjean/Alonso
Williams: Rosberg/Nakajima
Red Bull: Vettel/Webber
Toyota: Trulli/Davidson
Honda: Button/Barrichello
Toro Rosso: Bourdais/B. Senna
Force India: Fisi/Davidson

Barrichello - He is the set-up guy for Ross Brown no way his going now as a new and totally diferent car is coming next. They will need his expirience and Brown like to work with Rubens.
Heinfeld - The same as Rubens. He is the set-up guy for Rampf.
Davidson - I don't like Glock and Sato.
DC - Retire!
B. Senna - His career is helped by Berger and he is also talented.
Piquet Jr. - Well he just has a name...

I think Senna will get a ride, and others will stay put. Maybe DC will loose out.

This is true, a rookie mistake that could have cost him in Melbourne, but most drivers would rather be lucky than good.

Nakajima has failed to impress me, he has been consistently slower than Rosberg which doesn't exactly make him shine. However I DO rate Rosberg highly, he's a very complete and talented driver.
