Logic would say the credit goes to Key and his team. I think the upgrade is probably result from data gathered during testing.
I don’t think we would see RBR help until after decision to switch to Honda is firm and most likely is to asssit with the rear development and take a look at the integration to help in 2019. Otherwise I think these should be credit to Key and also Honda.

Driver, Car and PU just superb.
I still think TR chassis not better than Renault or Mclarens yet. It just seems little bulky, too wide,and not so compact compared to others and if that is true, then PU and Honda take even more Credit. The car is really suited to that stop and go kind of tracks. Traction and brakes must be really good also.
I don't know how their race engine mode will be, or how their consumption or reliability will be, but Qualification Engine mode , jeez its better than Renault atm.

I need a beer, im shocked.. I can imagine honda engineer said f**k you 3 engine limit, we are going update the engine every 2 race! Enjoy the qualy mode!
Situation has reversed for Honda this year. Last year everyone assumed Mclaren had one of the best chassis on the grid, so even a little bit of improvement was being attributed to the chassis. Now everyone know TR is a midfield team with a good but not great chassis. So results like these will give Honda more credibility.
I also think the extra money saved from paying Mclaren and Alonso is speeding up the development. Hopefully the engine holds up tomorrow.
Also the Mclaren chassis being draggy claims from last year might hold some truth as they are the slowest between the renaults on the straight, but that can easily be due to integration issue.
