Some sort of rotary feature inline with the intake runners. (yellow circles) Throttle plates? Some say these aren't used in the current formula.ripper wrote: ↑07 Apr 2018, 11:57https://cdn-6.motorsport.com/images/amp ... 036678.jpg

Sorry I am not sure about "cassoncino di aspirazione" translation, it could be inlet air case (or maybe air intake system)
Would they not be mount holes? or are you just being ironic?roon wrote: ↑07 Apr 2018, 22:18Some sort of rotary feature inline with the intake runners. (yellow circles) Throttle plates? Also, I found the source of Renault's compressor inefficiency (green arrows).

I reckon the throttle plates are metal and bolted onto the head similar to the V8 engines.roon wrote: ↑07 Apr 2018, 22:18Some sort of rotary feature inline with the intake runners. Doubt it, would guess electro-mechanical actuators.
Electrically controlled, hydraulic operated, much faster than only solenoid driven. The weight penalty is almost negligible and the benefits of faster VLIM control I think would be worth it. But eh, not my pumpy lump.

Surprised no one talks about the shape of the ports.
