It's a sport, things will happen. If we want to sanitize it anymore we might as well not race.

It is almost unheard of that pit crews get injured in modern F1 but accidents happen. Let's not over react and give LM or FIA anymore retarded ideas.

Not penalizing the team more for running over one of their employees is what's retarded!
Penalize them? What for? Would you penalize the Cowboys if one of their players got hurt? Should the FA or UEFA have penalised ManU when Zlatan got injured? Don't be silly.
No no no, its not silly. You should be penalised for an unsafe release. And they don't come much more dangerous than that. Someone had their leg snapped because someone screwed up. It calls for a penalty to try and prevent it happening again

Hamilton had a very bad start and first lap, from being way too cautious in the first corner and getting overtaken by Alonso and Verstappen he was very fortunate to get 3rd place.
TBH he had nowhere to go as he had a Haas right in front of him. He ended up right where he started after having to slam the brakes on.
Exactly. His start was one of the best, but got crowded out by Kmag.

I don't know why everybody praises what Seb told at the press conference regarding what Hamilton said about Max.First it was not adrenalin it happened after the race and this analogy that if you could hear what football players say is ridiculous.
It was after the race, but it looked like he was just talking to Bottas about it. Vettel only defended him as he probably too knows Max is a dickhead.

Toto told that Ferrari was communicating to Vettel to do fuel saving "four six" which in words of Toto is "a lot.. a lot of lift and coast". He also told that Ferrari had this problem straight from the beginning of the race.
And of course a certain part of fuel saving was done to give Vettel the tools he needed to defend himself in the last couple of laps.

It doesn't have to be that their engine is much thirstier than mercedes.Maybe they started with less fuel. I think they did it a lot last few years. They were generally faster at the beginning of races than in the second part.
It actually makes sense to start underfueled. If there is safety car you have benefits because than you can save fuel and if a car is lighter it is more gentle on tyres.

There's not that much of a difference between the soft and medium in terms of durability. Medium is a tad more durable with a tad less performance.

It was a who runs out of tires first game. People say Merc should've had Bottas push sooner, but it would've also meant running out of the tires sooner too - both for him and Vettel. The biggest benefactor in such a scenario could've been Hamilton though, considering how much he was faster than Vettel on the final lap; Bottas' and Vettel's tires were both done for.

- You end up where you started (in the close 2nd best car) = one of the best starts  . Someone who started in front is quicker and "blocks you" = bad luck I guess

- Anyway, how was Hulkenberg pushing off Magnussen clean racing? Look where and how (speed, angle) he started cutting, that's not the way to take this corner, it was no different to Hartley-Perez.

Before clicking on an article that said "Vettel has Hamilton's back on Verstappen dickhead remark" (more or less) i kinda pictured Vettel going "but he is a dickhead!!!"for a second.

Kinda disappointed at the real thing honestly lol.

no, the though impressive, but very unsafe 'lightning fast pitstop' procedures are the problem.

there are really 2 solutions to the problem.

1 is a system where a pitfloor mounted 'jacklift' raises the car and the only way the car gets dropped is when all 4 wheel guys press a handheld button that it's safe to go. then the car drops immediately and the driver is free to go.

the other one, is a simple total 'pressure' relief system, in the form of a mandatory 5 second pitstop minimum time. in other words - if a car is stationary for more than 5 seconds at their garage, they get a penalty.
that takes off a lot of haste and pressure, and is fair and equal as everybody now gets the same chances, including 'smaller' teams. there is not really a downside to it, as everybody will have to deal with the same issue.

ok, there are some minor downsides - you can calculate opponent pitstops better, but again that goes both ways.
it would have a serious impact on tire strategy though, as you now have to calculate 3 seconds extra to your benefit window from getting fresher tires. but then again, the same goes for all teams.

the 5 second rule would be the easiest fix. it would cost no money, only save money because teams don't have to train like marines or soldiers on XTC to get insane speed levels in replacing the wheels, and all along, under pure job pressure to perform, all the stress that accompanies this, would thus see a huge relief in human speed, aswell as usage of tools and materials. it would minimize chances for stuff like that happened to haas last gp for example,
and would surely avoid a situation like with ferrari in bahrain.

the jacklift would cost a good additional amount of money, so i don't think that would be the preffered choice.

"Hamilton was beating Verstappen 7-0, then the ref decided F%$& rules, next goal wins
while also sending off 4 Hamilton players to make it more interesting"

Although legal, i think it's important to notice that Verstappen was full "elbows out" in a midfield battle on lap 2.
almost all of his issues happen in the first few laps. RBR should remote gimp his car till lap 5 or 6, he'd probably score an extra 30 to 40 points a season.
he is becoming same as his dad , gain massive on start but never finish.

The way Hamilton overtook the three cars- with Hulkenberg being the last one..

He did it actually the same way as Verstappen, by moving to the outside after the hairpin.

It is only because Hulkenberg gave up the position that there wasn’t a collision.

It was Hamilton’s fault vs. Verstappen, he should have backed off, knowing he lost the position- the same way Hulkenberg did.
Except Hamilton gave enough room and was in control enough to make the corner while leaving enough room. Interstingly this is what Verstappen said about Rosberg when he got chopped in Hockenheim. Memories are short in F1. "He just doesn’t turn in or give space on the exit – and that’s not fair"

But when istn't it Hamilton's fault with you, even when he pulls off the overtake of the season and we're only at the 2nd race. Enjoy.
Overtake of the season? That simple DRS overtake with a far superior car?? Hahaha.. have another one.

Hamilton got schooled by Verstappen.. and Hamilton knows it. Did you even see the replay of that? Hamilton just defending an already lost position.

I really wonder if you guys look at replays? Hamilton had huge space on the left, but kept it right behind Magnussen?

True that .. weirdly enough it really is exactly the same action, but only because Hulkenberg acts responsible, Ham just gets the credits for an identical action tossed in his lap.
He’s an extremely good driver, but this diva-esque behaviour is rather pityful ..

Fair enough going into the first corner recklese is asking for trouble but so is going in over cautious. Hamilton had plenty of room on the outside but wrongly stuck to the inside and was lucky to not get tagged by a Force India. He's not used to mixing it with the midfield and yesterday it showed. I also think it's unfair to put all the blame on Verstappen, he made the pass and squeezed Lewis a little but Lewis pointlessly tried to hang in there when he had clearly lost the position.
