Piquet good driver in bad car??

Post

I've kind of followed Piquet over the past few years but it's not exactly been a triumphant season so far.

Now obviously there are a few reasons as to why this happens but what does everyone think?

nelsinho is maybe not that bad but he is too young and he does not have the talent young alonso or schumacher or hamilton had when they entered the world of F1. He is too young and unable to fight with anybody on the track. he is slow and he can not blame the car because it was not desinged for alonso as the car has been prepared before alonso decided to go to renault at the end of the season and the development of the car for 2008 has been done in 2007...so nelsinho should know the car much etter the alonso...so it is clear - a slow driver in a good car..I would say he is overestimated and this shows in this season, they should change him for someone more experienced before it is too late.

Good point pieter, the car was not designed for Alonso, but there is probability that changes are being made arround his style. That is the reason why we are seeing partial speedy moments, I think Alonso is the kind of driver who knows how to develop arround him, like Schumacher did.

As I already said in other thread, Nelsinho is 0.8 secs off from Alonso (average for first 6 races Q1/Q2 times)
Even for a car designed for Alonso, that is way too much time.
