Weight distributions are fairly tightly fixed, wheelbases aren't too dissimilar for weight transfer and braking effects, discs are fairly cold from the huge amount of air they just took in so heat isn't too much of an issue - it builds up more in the twisty section.

That may also contribute to a problem. Carbon brakes work best above a certain temperature. They're pretty worthless cold. Much like tires, they have an optimum working range.

No, they design the mounting to be pop up if there is a heavy shunt, hence reduce the energy that is potentially deadly to safety cells

How weight distributions are fixed? fixed by rules or you mean that all teams have closed to optimum design which means similar weight distributions? and even if static weight distribution is fixed by rules then different suspension compression during braking affects weight distribution (dynamic w.d.) and suspension geometry and in result tire contact and braking ability. agree?

No. 53 at back, 47 at front. Fixed for all teams based on pirelli request in 2013. Thats why we have limousine cars since they need to strach the back of the car to meet the regulation requirement or put heavy balast on FW. Then compare it to indy and good old v10 days and you get the idea

Can't be surprised, its the gearbox and rear suspension. Although they did have to modify the gearbox to bolt on the Honda PU, I wonder if it means anything?
