Any news on if Kimi's new engine is an upgraded spec, or is it an identical unit to the one that got replaced?

Problem is....McLaren's race pace during Fp2 did not look good compared to Haas and Renault
Hopes of more points rest over instability of Haas drivers and a possible meltdown of Verstappen...rs

I wouldn't worry much. Mclaren is much better in general than Renault, Haas and Force India and has a bigger budget and will be able to outdevelop them. Our target is to enter these top 3 teams Mercedes,Ferrari and Red Bull who are very close to each other.

I am confident that today on the Qualifications we will have the set up needed to enter Q3 and start in front of those teams.

They could have taken here if ready tho.

Now Kimi has a 2 race disadvantage to Seb.

I agree. P7 is possible today. But it will be close. During the race I expect Renault and Haas not to be a threat though.

They will be able to enter Q3. Alonso at least. I believe they have gained a lot with their B Spec Car compared to all their rivals. We shal wait and see.

Why would Ferrari try such an obviously illegal looking thing if it actually was illegal? Would have just been a waste of time.
It most possibly was not illegal, but FIA changed it afterwards, like they always do. A bit ridiculous.
Horner said on Skysports F1 yesterday during FP2 that RedBull looked at a similar idea but didn't pursue it
as they thought it was illegal. Could just be the usual Horner spin of course but I don't think it's all that safe to
be hanging mirrors off the halo device.
Well, you don't just think if something is illegal or not, you look it up. These are rules written down so it makes less to no sense to tell that they thought it was not illegal.
The rule tells that you are not allowed such big wings on the halo. Ferrari didn't put the wing on the halo, but on the mirror. So technically it is allowed. Ferrari went to the legal limits which is absolutely ok and FIA declared it as illegal afterwards which is really ridiculous. But I'm not surprised anymore. :)
How to fix F1? Ban the FIA. For once the halo looked okay with some things hanging off. But that aside, is the mirror placement the issue (FIA really messed up if it is) or the winglet above (My guess)? I can get no straight answers anywhere.

The issue was that it wasn't Mercedes or Red Bull to create those mirrors, because in such a case they would have not forbidden them after having said they were legal.
