That pretty much went as expected, though wasn't expecting that surge from Force India. A typical Alonso start tomorrow and P6 is there for the taking, plus potential fortune from places head should anything happen.

They were giving up alot of time to everyone in that 2nd sector.... They very good in both s1 and s3.

Still a huge amount of work to be done, Red Bull showing what's possible with a killer chassis. I just hope Mclaren can find inspiration in all this, keep their head down and be efficient.
I hope they can make significant gains in the next few races, that will keep them on the right side of the midfield, enough that will allow them switch focus early to the 2019 car.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

I think ALO will do a 12.2 - 12.4 in Quali.
Ricciardo was into 1.11s in fp2 so expect at least mid to high 1.11s when balance issues are sorted
You sure ????? :D

Those are the sectors where it's all driver skill and bravery, sector 2 is all chassis, starting on the downhill, through the swimming pool. It's all about grip, braking stability and aero performance. Naturally Red Bull smashed everyone there. When McLaren get their aero concept dialed in that .6+ deficit will become a .3 deficit.

Not too shabby, P7. I don't know what to say about Vandoorne though. He just isn't there, when it's critical.

Renault works team with a bigger budget and despite having a faster car at the start of the season have finished behind Mclaren in qualifying in Spain and Monaco. May be they should also close their racing team and go home.

McLaren is making progress and is going in the right direction but these things take time.

Vandoorne is the development driver I guess because in the race in clean air his speed isn't too different from Alonso's.

I would remind you to please stay on topic which is, unsurprisingly, Mclaren RENAULT. Nothing to do with Honda !

Eric Boullier is like Christian Horner...I don't think Horner tells Newey what to do... As far as racing is concerned..McLaren haven't put a foot wrong this year.

Before you start firing people, I suggest you learn what their job is.

I'd be interested in learning how much of that time was lost at the hairpin.

I don't think Eric Boullier does enough of a job and that is why in my opinion they should bring Ross Brawn on the team. He is the best at reading all the rules and their loopholes and making teams that dominate.
