Haas has engine plus huge aerodynamic upgrade so unless correlation problems kick in don't underestimate them

Anyone have access to speed trap chart?

During the session both mclarens were first on the 3rd sector speed trap with 295 kph, equaling mercedes speeds there.

During last 15 minutes alonso got 305 kph being the fastest in S3 speed trap but should be a slipstream. Anyway they were there during all the session

in fastest lap, alonso did not put the best 2nd sector . 1st sector he lost only tenth then ended up loosing 3 tenth in 2nd and another tenth in final sector. if we take his best 2nd sector then mclaren will be only 3tenth off to fp1 best time close to bottas. and they were also trying different noses on alonso car. so more to come .lets wait for 2nd practice before we start to dance.

But Haas also has an upgraded PU and big aero updates as well...

I'm eager to see FP2, especially long runs. I hope they can stay competitive.
