it seems to me that mclaren is going to expand into indy with fernando alonso, all under the protection of zak brown and andretti
a move like this would mean fernando leaving F1 at the end of this season, but of course fernando will try to milk as much money as possible from such a deal
considering all of the above I think it is safe to say mclaren wont win an f1 race under the current regulation.
moreover i think that the problem with mclaren is zak brown, since i do get the feeling that he runs this team more like a business in search of expanding instead of a racing team.
one of the symptoms of mclaren being run as a business instead of a racing team is all the bad decisions regarding the honda deal, in which they sacrificed development for short term gains to image and performance.
and when performance is under expectations, people get fired and used as scapegoats or they point fingers to others.
