They didn't with Stoff because they had Alonso and Button there already. They'll promote him whether he wins F2 or not, or they can lose him to Red Bull, it's their choice.NathanOlder wrote: ↑28 Jun 2018, 16:07I don't believe Mclaren will rush Lando in, they didn't with Stoffel so I cant see them doing it with Lando. If Lando wins the F2 he will do a year elsewhere or loaned to a smaller team.
Gasly and VanDoorne both had to do a year elsewhere as they won the F2 title and can't stay on.
This assumes Ricciardo would go to Ferrari if he was offered the job, which itself upsets apple carts all over the place.hemichromis wrote: ↑29 Jun 2018, 10:06I struggle to believe Ferrari would put Leclerc in the car rather than Ricciardo.
Ricciardo has behaved very well with an equally quick driver in Verstappen who has gotten a lot more attention in the last two years.
I find it hard to believe he would go to Ferrari and be a problem.
I wonder if Marchionne talk to money was related to Ricciardo's negotiations...
Leclerc is a Ferrari young driver, he would be quick enough to earn points whilst learning how to work in a top team. Vettel does the headline job for a couple more years then retires, Leclerc already positioned, assuming he turns out to be as good as he appears, to lead the team forward with a new driver in the other car.hemichromis wrote: ↑29 Jun 2018, 10:06I struggle to believe Ferrari would put Leclerc in the car rather than Ricciardo.
The 20-year-old has agreed, but not signed, a two-year deal to be Sebastian Vettel's team-mate until 2020, according to a source close to Ferrari.
Too bad not all are created equal. Some are better than others. Few are the very best at what they do. There is a high probability that whatever you do, there’s someone out there better than you at it too. Most likely even in your company. Does that stop you from doing what you do and enjoying it? Making a living from it? Hardly.
