A classic from 1/2 a century ago.. the mighty Chrysler Hemi 426 cross-ram..
Enough power to pump a showroom 'superstock'(factory-production) Barracuda/Dart - down the 1/4 mile - in the 10's..

What is it? Looks like pushrod street engine (large non-racing flywheel) with 1980's CART/Indycar style turbo setup. Turbo is at back of engine, so not a current turbo-in-front type setup as seen on drift/tuner cars.

EDIT: If I was clever enough to read the jpeg link, I would have found out it's a GM/Detroit Diesel 8V-71, a 2-stroke modular diesel available from I4 to V24 configs. This engine design didn't really work out, and after the initial 1938 introduction it was quickly pulled off the market by 1995.

Good guess Bill, but wrong.. them dirty Detroits remain in milspec service today, so that's 80 years & still pumpin' hard!

Two more V4's. What is the one posted above? edit: The one above is a KTM 990cc GP1 engine. Yummy.

This is a 500cc sleeve valve two stroke by Suter. ~200hp. Their website is funky so Google is your friend here...
Edit: "Suter MMX 500", 576cc two-stroke with carbon reed valves and dual counter-rotating cranks. 13,000 rpm redline. ~195 hp. http://suter500.com/engineering/



Next up is the Motus V4. Pushrods! 110ci displacement, 180 hp & 126 ft*lbs, 8,500rpm redline. edit: Too funny that I called out pushrods and then failed to show any. I still came up empty on any actual photos, but found the bottom three images instead...
