that's what I expect of a real car, not an mixture between a plane and a spaceship.

That 312 is sweet, 2nd only to the wingless Lotus 49. But it's all personal opinion.
Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.

OMG! See? That is true rosso corsa on a Ferrari 312/67. Johny FTW!
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

johny, you are right on. THAT is a F1 car! Clean, simple, nothing extra. Just the basics and a brave man. No, not the epitome of engineering, but then the question was best looking, right?

I think any "wingless" F1 car is more beautiful than the current car-toons masquerading as F1 cars.

The main problem nowadays is the extreme aero engineering, it's hard to understand that the developement of the most important part of a car is frozen and loads of resources have been moved to develop state of art aerodinamics.

Yes, that's engineering but what are the benefits of aero research for automotive industry? moreover, what are the benefits for racing?

My vote for 1990 is because of the Ferrari 641.

Yes the 640 embodies true elegance in a racing car. AND the leading edge technology of the auto trans.

Johny was a tad off topic, but I fully agree:

I love F1, but it is incomprehensible that the teams are not allowed to work for more HP.

The best looking cars in my opinion are:

Williams FW14
Renault R26
Toyota FT106
BMW & Williams partnership cars, those were clean looking.

Altho the worst looking id say is probably the Williams FW26 or the BWM Sauber F1.08, maybes that MaCca with the mid wing.

One car that i could look at all day is the Benetons between 1992 and 1995/6, same with most of the MaCcas arround that time.

Is a bit cheesy, I know, but WTF!

Now in this one, you all can appreciate that the 412 T2 was, if not the most beautiful to your eyes, the best singer from all times.
