Why do teams have different noses and different FW and Different bargeboard area and different floor?
Different sidepod shapes. No one really uses that sidepod shape anymore. The McLaren variant forces a very sharp downturn to the sidepod which requires vortices for the flow to keep attached.
If you mean a Ferrari-style solution with the crash structure on the bottom the answer is no, as it would require an all-new chassis and aero concept. They could, however, adopt the Mercedes solution.charliesmithhd wrote: ↑23 Jul 2018, 21:00would it be possible for McLaren to switch to this concept mid season, or even over the winter?
What concept do redbull have? It would seem more likely for McLaren to copy themScrewCaptain27 wrote: ↑23 Jul 2018, 21:07If you mean a Ferrari-style solution with the crash structure on the bottom the answer is no, as it would require an all-new chassis and aero concept. It’s far more similar to Ferrari. Would not fit this car right now.charliesmithhd wrote: ↑23 Jul 2018, 21:08What concept do redbull have? Rad inlet on top of the upper side crash structure. McLaren and Merc's are beneath.charliesmithhd wrote: ↑23 Jul 2018, 21:08What concept do redbull have?ScrewCaptain27 wrote: ↑23 Jul 2018, 21:07If you mean a Ferrari-style solution with the crash structure on the bottom the answer is no, as it would require an all-new chassis and aero concept. Mercedes does, copied them straight from McLaren.
You sure it was only in Monaco? I thought they had them in more races as well. They have for sure tho the same rear wing endplates as Renault does as well.
Wasn't talking about all years. I mean with post 2017 regulations which imo it makes sense to compare.
