Less soft tyres? I assume you meant more?
He meant that the tyres they are bringing are less soft i.e. harder.
Exactly, sorry because I was too lazy to use the appropiate term for each tyre. :D
It did have me wondering.

You were correct, don't worry. If you'd meant a smaller number you'd have said "fewer soft tyres". 8)
It could be read either way.

Do we think this track will suit Ferrari better than Merc?

A big result for Vettel needed and make some inroads into Hamilton’s lead.

I think the track will suit Ferrari more. I was expecting the Red Bulls to be up there as well but my mistake was not taking in to account that straight. Hungary also has that start finish straight. I expect a Ferrari pole and win. Damage limitation for Mercedes. Mercedes didn't win last year either and Hamilton was 4th. I think Valtteri goes better than Hamilton at this track. I predict a Vettel pole, joined by Valtteri. Ham and Rai on second row then Max and Ricciardo.

Hamilton - 4 Poles (1 Engine failure in qualifying - 2014) and 5 Wins and 1 Retirement (2010).
Vettel - 3 Poles and 2 Wins and 2 Retirements (2008, 2009).

Wouldnt it be better to see how many times Hamilton beat his team mate in Hungary? I too think Hamilton typically goes very well at Hungary, but Mercedes didnt have the car last year to show it and i am not sure how he will fair against Bottas. I somehow do feel Mercedes might surprise a few in Hungary.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Noooo. "Fewer" for countable things, "less" for non-countable things. "This tyre is less soft [granted "softer" would be typically used by a native English speaker] than that one", "There are fewer tyres", "There are fewer soft tyres".
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Hamilton is usually amazing in Hungary. That is one of his favorite tracks. It was a shock and a big surprise that he was outqualified by his teammate last year. I suspect this year will be different. However, this is a Redbull and Ferrari track imo. Vettel will likely get pole with Max completing the front row. Lewis 4th, behind either Raikonnen or Ricc.

Not to derail this thread but yes Hamilton has done well in the past when there didn't seem like there was a such tough competition as it is this year. Last year was Bottas's first year with Mercedes and also that was the first year of the wider and stronger aero regulations and Ferrari were also giving Mercedes a run for their money. This year Bottas is very strong and the Ferraris are even stronger. I think whatever advantage Hamilton used to enjoy at this track is gone. But hey I am speculating making educated guesses. It's more fun that way when the end of qualifying happens and I see how wrong or right I was!

I’m sure Vettel and Ferrari will be Very keen for a pole and a win after last week.

Think Ferrari will be might strong in spa and Monza this year. Going to be one serious fight to the end.

Will be interesting to see if Ferrari run the exhaust system they tried in practice last week.

What about the midfield?

I dont see Haas doing that well on this track. I expect Renault in 7th and 8th

You told the same about Monaco. Is there any track you think Mercedes is weak at? :)

To also tell my opinion: I won't be extremely surprised, if Mercedes is fast in Hungary. If their last update was aimed towards something, then it was to be more competitive on such tracks.

Lewis just had a bad qualifying last year. He ran circles around Bottas during the race.

It would be nice if Vettel could snatch some points from Hamilton before the summer break. He needs that, and for the championship
